Automated Imperva database security onboarding for a UK telecoms operator

We used Python and the Imperva API to automate database onboarding, bringing 900 database hosts, across a mix of database platforms, under Imperva database monitoring. The automation onboards each host from start to finish: it adds the database server, registers the monitoring agent, creates the database services and applies the security policies.
We are now extending an existing PowerShell reporting workflow so that security and operational information arrives in consistent, branded reports: daily health checks, database user-rights triage, weekly KPIs, senior leadership reporting and overall service status. Controlled Excel workbooks combine system extracts with reviewed manual inputs, so calculations stay consistent and every issue can be traced to an owner and its evidence.
Database onboarding automation is in use. The leadership report has been reviewed and improved; four further reports are designed and in build. Measured savings will be published once delivery is verified.
